Let’s face it — I’m a fat tub o’lard.  This is not because I particularly want to be that way, more so because it’s often been the path of least resistance.  However, I’ve resolved to do better.  Last week, I visited my doctor for a physical and, while examining me, she asked if I’d like to see a nutritionist.  “Sure,” I said, “I can do that.”  Prior to my appointment next month I agreed to chart what I eat for an entire week.  Here’s what I’ve had so far:

Monday

One large mug of coffee, sweetened with honey

One cup of oatmeal (half plain, half Cinnamon Swirl) made with 2% milk, sprinkled with assorted nuts on top

Two cups of coffee before lunch, one at lunch

One order of Parmesan Chicken from Coco’s (chicken, spaghetti with sauce, a crock of tortilla soup, small Caesar salad)

Half of a frozen pizza (California Kitchen, chicken & pesto)

Leftover mashed potatoes & gravy (Boston Market)

Tuesday

Morning coffee, no honey

A handful of assorted nuts

Lunch at Sizzler (salad bar, a plate of spaghetti & meatballs, grilled chicken, plate of salad with Ranch dressing, taco, cheese toast, Sprite)

A glass of cranberry juice

Dinner at Cafe Yulong in downtown Mt. View (seasoned green beans, Manchurian chicken, viniger beef, bowl of white rice, fortune cookie, glass of water)

Wednesday

Morning coffee with honey

One bananna & a handful of assorted nuts

Chile Colorado lunch at Mexacali Grill (beef, sauce, back beans, Spanish rice, basket of chips, water)

A glass of cranberry juice

One Macaroni & Beef frozen dinner (Safeway brand)

Mug of water

Thursday

One cup of oatmeal (half plain, half Cinnamon Swirl) made with 2% milk, sprinkled with assorted nuts on top

Beriani at Dish Dash (beef, rice, yogurt sauce)

A can of Sprite

Marie Calendar’s Frozen dinner (turkey w/stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans)

A glass of grapefruit juice

20 slices of low fat salami

Friday

Morning coffee with honey

Another cup of coffee, two toasted bagels with low fat cream cheese, orange juice

Super, wet beef burrito, two medium root beers

One liter Calistoga mineral water

Frozen dinner (?)

Saturday

Cup of 2% milk

Frozen dinner, beef tip & noodles

Frozen dinner, breaded chicken, potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots

Salami

Frozen dinner, chicken parmesan

Canned chicken soup with noodles

One box of Hamburger Helper (Italian Sausage) made with 1/2 pound ground turkey
